What happens if I don’t hit the fundraising minimum?

Cyclists that don’t reach the fundraising minimum will not be able to pick up their package or participate in the event. Please contact Sierra Mota (Sierra.Mota@mscanada.ca) for fundraising tips or volunteer opportunities.

Are there any training rides?

Ride with GPS MS Bike Challenges

I don’t have a team but would love to join one, are there any teams accepting lone riders?

Connect with a team captain to see if they are open to taking new riders.

What kind of bike do I need?

Road bike is best, but you can participate with any bike!

Do you have a recommended Bike Store?

Bushtukah and Tunes on Wheels are back as our local bike shop sponsor. Visit them for bikes, tune-ups, and accessories.

Is there a minimum age?

The minimum age to participate in MS Bike is 12 years old. Participants between 12 and 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Chariots and baby carriers are not permitted on the route.

Are pets allowed?

Pets are not permitted on the route.  Pets are welcome at both the Kars Community Recreation Association and St. Lawrence College.  They must remain outdoors and on a leash at all times. Please note: if you plan on bringing a pet to Brockville overnight, it is your responsibility to check with the hotel about their pet policy.

What happens if I hit a fundraising reward?

Click here to check out the fundraising rewards! If you qualify for a reward, you can pick it up at package pick-up or the morning of the bike tour.  If you hit a reward level after the bike tour, connect with Sierra Mota (Sierra.Mota@mscanada.ca) to get your rewards!

Accommodations

Is there a place to camp – Tent or RV and is there power at the site?

TBD. Check back for details to follow soon.

Do you have a suggested hotel or group rate somewhere?

We have been working with a few hotels in Brockville who have put aside rooms under the reservation “MS Bike”. The chart below shows the hotel options that we are recommending. We will be providing shuttles between these hotels and the finish line, St. Lawrence College, continuously Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning.

If you choose to stay at a different location (family, another hotel, etc.), you will need to arrange your own transportation.

I encourage everyone to reserve a room as soon as you can. Cancellations can be made until August 5th without penalty, after that date, fees will be associated with cancellation. Please talk to a hotel associate for more information regarding their cancellation policy.

What if I get a breakdown along the route or can’t finish?

MS Bike is a fully supported ride with first aid, mechanics, and support vehicles. If you need help or encounter a breakdown, move to the side of the road and hold your helmet up.

I am spending the night at the hotels; how do I get my overnight bag there?

At the start line we will have a luggage truck to drop off your bag.  Please ensure your luggage has a wristband matching your bib number attached for pick up after you're done with your ride!

Day 1 was fun, but my legs are sore, and I don’t want to ride back, how can I get back to the start line?

MS Bike is low pressure ride, if you can’t ride day 2 no problem! We have a bus that is available back to the start line departing at 9:00am.  Please be sure to connect with Sierra Mota (Sierra.Mota@mscanada.ca) if you are planning on taking the bus back on Day 2. We don’t want it to leave without you!

Should I bring money to the event?

Amenities at the start/finish line, along the route and our Saturday evening program are complimentary to volunteers and participants just show your wristband or t-shirt.
