What kind of bike do I need? Is there anywhere I can rent one locally?

  • Road bike is best, but you can participate with any bike!

When will I be able to pick up my rider’s package?

Is there a minimum fundraising amount?

  • Registering for MS Bike, participants are committing to raise the minimum fundraising amount of $500. Staff is here to support you in reaching your goals. Please reach out to Sheron sheron.chrysler@mscanada.ca or msbike@mssociety.ca and we will help you with fundraising ideas, resources, and support.

What happens if I do not hit the fundraising minimum?

  • Cyclists that don’t reach the fundraising minimum will not be able to pick up their package or participate in the bike tour. Please connect with Sheron for fundraising tips or volunteer opportunities.

I am on a team - can we just fundraise enough as a team to cover one another’s $500 minimum?

  • The $500 fundraising minimum is per participant - team donations and team members cannot cover the fundraising minimum for others. Donations must be kept under the person/team that the donor originally intended for - they cannot be moved between participants.  

Can I pick up my friend/teammates’ package?

  • If they have reached the $500 minimum fundraising, feel free to pick up for your friend, or your entire team! Make sure to get their sizing for the tech t-shirt and any other fundraising rewards they may have earned!

Is there a minimum age?

  • The minimum age to participate in MS Bike is 12 years old. Participants between 12 and 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Chariots and baby carriers are not permitted on the route. 

Are pets allowed?

  • Pets are NOT permitted on the route or at Thunderbird Show Park. Failure on any part to follow these guidelines will have this permission revoked for all. 

What happens if I hit a fundraising reward?

  • Click here to check out the fundraising rewards! If you qualify for a reward, you can pick it up at the package pick-up or morning of the bike tour.  If you hit a reward level after the bike tour, connect with Sheron to get your rewards!

Is there a place to camp – Tent or RV?

  • Saturday dinner: Seared Chicken Breast w/ Pan Jus(GF,DF), Creole Prawns(GF,DF), Pesto Penne (Vegetarian)(Will make some GF pasta),Thyme Mashed Potatoes (GF), Grilled Asparagus Spears(GF,DF), Corn on the Corn(GF,DF), Kale Caesar Salad(GF), House Greens(GF,DF) and Mango Panna Cotta (Dessert)(GF)
  • Sunday breakfast and lunch sponsored by Fort Langley Lions Club
  • Additional snacks and hydration available on route at the rest stops and in Rider Village at Thunderbird Show Park

I have food allergies, should I bring my own food?

  • We do our best to accommodate all our cyclists, however, all allergy restrictions and food specifications cannot always be met. We do our best to share the event meal plan of the ride. If you do have a severe allergy, please bring your own food for the weekend to ensure your safety. 

What if I get a breakdown along the route or cannot finish?

  • The MS Bike Fraser Valley is a fully supported ride with first aid, mechanics, and support vehicles. If you need help or encounter a breakdown, move to the side of the road, and hold your helmet up. Call the number on the back of your bib number to connect with the Route Control team.

Should I bring money to the event?

  • Yes - if you are planning on having any alcoholic drinks! We have beer gardens/bar where drinks will cost dollars $5 for Beer & Cider and $7 for Wine. Non-alcoholic drinks are free of charge.

What happens on day one after the ride in Rider Village?

  • Socializing! Look for lawn games, beer gardens, music
  • 6:00 pm dinner, speeches, recognition, bar, and dancing!

Are there ATMs on-site?

Can my family/friend join in after the ride?

Where do I retrieve my purchases following the day’s ride?

  • Purchases are labeled with your bib number and name by the rest stop volunteers. The purchases are picked up by the purchase pick-up crew and delivered to the purchase pick-up room at Rider Village. You can pick up your purchases following that day’s ride at a designed TBA time.

How many rest stops are there on the ride?

  •   7 rest stops on Saturday and 2 rest stops on Sunday.

If am tired or can’t make one of the rides days, do I have to participate in both Saturday and Sunday rides?

I received more donations after the event, what should I do with them?

  • Fundraising is open until September 30th! If you hit a milestone after the event, you can still receive that item.

I had so much fun, when can I register for next year!?

  • MS Bike has year-round registration and fundraising! Registration for next year is already open, with fundraising starting October 1st.

When will the pictures be posted?

  • It can take some time for photos to be sent from our photographers. Typically, they are posted on our Flickr account and Facebook Bike group 4-6 weeks after the event. You will receive an email with the link, once the photos are up! A link will be posted here when the photos are up.

Is there a Lost and Found?

  • Yes, a lost and found will be located at Rider Village at the Participant Check-in/ Information. Please connect with Sheron for any lost and found items.

I just hit a new fundraising milestone; can I still get my reward?

  • Of course! Please connect with Sheron to arrange a pickup/delivery time!
