Is there a minimum fundraising amount?
Registering for MS Bike, participants are committing to raise the minimum fundraising amount of $500. Staff are here to support you in reaching your goals. Please reach out to Dylan at dylan.murphy@mscanada.ca and he can help you with fundraising ideas, resources, and support.

What happens if I don’t hit the fundraising Minimum?
Cyclists that don’t reach the fundraising minimum will not be able to pick up their package or participate in the bike. Please contact Dylan at dylan.murphy@mscanada.ca for fundraising tips or volunteer opportunities.

What are some fundraising ideas?
We have a list of fundraising ideas collected from participants across the country!

I am on a team- can we just fundraise enough as a team to cover one another’s $500 minimum?
The $500 fundraising minimum is per participant. Team donations and team members cannot cover the fundraising minimum for others. Donations must be kept under the person/team that the donor originally intended – they cannot be moved between participants.

Are there any teams accepting new riders?
Several teams are accepting new members. Contact Dylan at dylan.murphy@mscanada.ca to inquire about joining a team.

What kind of bike do I need?
Road bike is best, but you can participate with any bike, including electric bikes

Is there a minimum age?
The minimum age to participate in MS Bike is 12 years old. Participants between 12 and 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Chariots and baby carriers are not permitted on the route.

Are pets allowed?
Pets are not permitted on the route.

What happens if I hit a fundraising reward?
Check out the fundraising rewards! If you qualify for a reward, you can pick it up at the package pick up or morning of the bike tour. If you hit a reward level after the bike tour, contact Dylan at dylan.murphy@mscanada.ca to arrange pickup/delivery.

Is there a deadline to sign up for the ride?
You can sign up for the ride right up until event weekend. The last day to register is Saturday, July 27th before the ride begins at 7:30am. Please note that by registering for MS bike, participants are committing to raise the minimum fundraising amount of $500.

Dorm Accommodations Information
Cyclists who selected “dorm accommodations” will be staying in the Ontario Hall residence at Western University. Cyclists staying in dorms will be provided with towels, sheets, pillows, and soap. Participants will need to bring their own shampoo, if necessary.

Camping/Own Accommodations Information
Cyclists who selected “camping/own accommodations” are responsible for arranging their own accommodations in London on Saturday, July 27th. It is recommended that cyclists book their accommodation early, as rooms can book up quickly.

Is there a place to camp – Tent or RV – the Friday before the event?
Yes, the Grand Bend Motorplex has overnight camping available at $15 per person. Please call them at (519) 238-7223 to book.

Event Meal Plan Details
There will be breakfast provided before the ride begins on Saturday and food and drinks will be available at each of the 4 rest stops along the route, including lunch at rest stop #3. The rest stops on Day 2 (Sunday) will also have food and drinks available followed by a BBQ lunch back at the Grand Bend Motorplex. Meal plans will be listed here when available.

What if I get a breakdown along the route or can’t finish the ride?
MS Bike is a fully supported ride with first aid, mechanics, and support vehicles. If you need help or encounter a breakdown, move to the side of the road and hold your helmet up. You can also call the number on your wristband to connect with the Route Control team.

I am spending the night in the dorms. How do I get my overnight bag there?
We will have a luggage truck at the start line for you to drop your bag off at. Please ensure your luggage has a luggage tag attached to it that matches your bib number for easy identification and pick up after you're done with your ride.

Where do I store my bike overnight?
For participants staying overnight at Western University, they have the option to store their bike in their dorm room, or at another secure room at Ontario Hall.

I’m not able to ride back to Grand Bend on Day 2. How can I get back to the Grand Bend Motorplex?
MS Bike is low pressure ride – if you can’t ride on day 2, or if you can only ride part of the way, no problem! We will have a bus that is available to drive you back to the Grand Bend Motorplex.

Should I bring money and ID to the event?
Food and beverage items at the start/finish line, along the route, and at our Saturday evening dinner are complimentary to volunteers and participants – just show your wristband or t-shirt.

However, we’ve added some event experiences that require extra payment such as our Beer Gardens on Saturday afternoon. Please bring your photo ID if you plan to purchase alcohol at the Beer Gardens. Western University accepts cash, and debit/credit cards.

What is the plan in case of inclement weather?
MS Bike will take place rain or shine. If there is lightning and thunder and/or the route is unsafe for riding, the event will be postponed until conditions allow for a safe ride, or the event will be cancelled. Please monitor your email leading up to the event and on event day for any important email communications from your bike coordinator.

I received more donations after the event, what should I do with them?
Fundraising is open until September 30th! If you hit a milestone after the event, you can still receive that item.

When can I register for next year’s MS Bike event?
MS Bike has year-round registration and fundraising! Registration for next year is already open, with fundraising starting October 1st.

When will the pictures be posted?
It can take some time for photo’s to be sent from our photographers. Typically they are posted on our Flikr account and Facebook Bike group 4-6 weeks after the event. You will receive an email with the link, once photo’s are up!

Is there a Lost and Found?
Please contact Dylan at dylan.murphy@mscanada.ca for any lost and found items.

I just hit a new fundraising milestone, can I still get my reward?
Of course! Please contact Dylan at dylan.murphy@mscanada.ca to arrange a pickup/delivery time.
